Funded by the Illinois Department on Aging, Sahara Home Care a.k.a. Sahara Asian Elderly Care is an in-home care service provider for elderly and disabled persons. Initially, our organization was formed to provide valuable services to the growing South Asian and Middle Eastern elderly population of Chicago land. However, our clientele has expanded into seniors of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Our research shows many of these individuals that desperately seek assistance with personal care and everyday errands often go overlooked and are left unserved. Being so accustomed to their cultural settings, they also want to remain in a familiar surrounding at home. With the ethnic and immigrant population growing and high-priced senior nursing facilities as the only other alternative, their options become very limited. In-home care is a feasible solution to meet our targeted population’s growing needs.
Sahara Homecare is operated with the help of its founders and management team. President Armaghan Rana has a background in Computer Engineering and approximately over 17 years of CCP in-home care management experience. Vice-President Waqar Ali Khan is a Marketing Analyst with prior experience as a CCP supervisor. Mohammad Imran Sheikha, a CFO with a background in banking, also assists the agency with client outreach and company financials. We believe that by employing a competent and educated staff and in turn providing experienced and responsive management, we can become the in-home care service provider of choice. Sahara Home Care’s head office is based in DuPage County in Lombard, Illinois.
We proudly serve Chicago, DuPage County, Part of Lake County, Part of Will County and Most of suburban Cook County from our DuPage and suburban Cook County offices. Our goal is to expand even more into newer areas such as further out suburbs of Chicago and other areas where in-home care needs are not adequately met.
We understand the unique needs of such individuals and are able to provide them with the assistance they require. Our caregivers are trained professionals and we adhere to the federal, local and state policies and standards. Sahara Home Care offers a wide range of services to help our clients cope with the challenges of old age. Our caregivers strive to improve client satisfaction and also help client’s families become accustomed to the special dietary, physical and psychological requirements of the client.
Our mission is to empower the individuals and family members of the elderly population of Chicago and the suburbs to better their quality of living through progressive education and valuable social services that will help sustain their well-being and independence.

Our goal is to provide quality in-home care service to the elderly and disabled while providing fair wages and counselling to their homecare aides. With a growing number of population ageing and an influx of immigrants, a large number of the ethnic elderly are often left unserved and overlooked. Many immigrants that migrated to the U.S. to help secure promising futures for their children are now in need of help themselves. These seniors want to stay in their own homes and close to their culture that they have become so accustomed to. For many of these elderly folks with financial and personal impairments, Sahara’s services are a viable solution and a far less expensive alternative to the cost of a nursing home.
