Sahara Home Care proudly concluded its 2026 Back to School Supply Drive season with an incredible community celebration at our Skokie office this past weekend. Despite steady rain throughout the event, families continued to arrive with smiles, proving that not even the weather could dampen the spirit of our community.
Our final drive of the season was open to the public and became our largest giveaway yet. Throughout the day, Sahara Home Care distributed over 800 backpacks filled with school supplies to students preparing for the upcoming school year. In addition to receiving backpacks, families enjoyed popsicles and other refreshments while spending time with our team.
This event would not have been possible without the dedication of our outstanding staff and volunteers. From planning and organizing supplies to greeting families and handing out backpacks, every team member played an important role in making the day a success. Their commitment to serving our communities continues to reflect the values that define Sahara Home Care.
We were also honored to welcome WGN 9 News, who visited our Skokie event and featured the drive during their evening news broadcast. Their coverage helped highlight the importance of community partnerships and the positive impact that local organizations can have when they come together to support students and families.
The Skokie event marked the conclusion of a successful series of Back to School Supply Drives held across multiple Sahara Home Care locations this summer. Each event was created with one goal in mind: helping students begin the school year equipped with the supplies they need while strengthening the communities we proudly serve.
To every family who attended, every volunteer who gave their time, every employee who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and every community partner who supported these efforts, thank you. Your generosity and enthusiasm made this year’s Back to School Supply Drive season our most successful yet.
