In addition to offering free flu shots at in-service trainings, Sahara will also be providing flu shot clinics at our Chicago Devon and Melrose Park offices for staff and Homecare Aides in conjunction with CVS Pharmacy.
The flu virus, which is usually spread from October through March is very contagious and can cause symptoms such as fever, headaches, coughing, sneezing, chills, sore throat, and fatigue. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends vaccinations particularly for care providers who work with the elderly on a day to day basis.
“For those patients-if you are bringing the virus to their home, you are putting that patient at an increased risk,” said Batool Mehdi, pharmacist with CVS.
Employees can still get a flu shot at one of our in-house clinics on October 25 at our Chicago Devon office located at 2900 W. Devon Avenue from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m or on November 7 at our Melrose Park office located at 2225 W. North Avenue from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
